Questions when you need them
One uninterrupted recording

Questions that open them up

One natural conversation

Their voice, unchanged

Every answer easy to find

What Storywell preserves

Not just what they said. The way they said it.

Stories can be written down. Presence cannot. The laugh before the answer, the long pause, and the unexpected turn are part of what makes their story theirs.

Built for being together

You bring the person. Storywell helps you stay present.

01

Know what to ask

Choose thoughtful prompts from Begin Gently, Go Deeper, or From the Heart—then follow the conversation wherever it goes.

02

Don’t break the moment

Record one continuous conversation while Storywell quietly marks each new question in the background.

03

Return to any answer

Question timestamps turn a long conversation into chapters, without cutting it into disconnected clips.

04

Keep it in the family

Recordings stay on your iPhone by default. No account, no automatic upload, and no sharing unless you choose it.

How Storywell works

One visit can become something your family keeps.

No writing project or complicated setup. Create a journal, choose a few questions together, and let the conversation unfold at its own pace.

Why Storywell

Made for the conversation—not the finished memoir.

Some tools turn memories into books. Others use AI to interpret a life. Storywell keeps the original thing: a real conversation, in the storyteller’s own voice, with someone they trust.

One ordinary visit

You sit down with Dad and ask about his first job.

Before the visit, choose a few questions you have always meant to ask. At the kitchen table, press record once and let the conversation wander. Later, jump straight to “What was your first job?” without cutting the rest of the story apart.

One continuous recording. Every question easy to return to.

Private by design

Personal enough to protect.

These are not just files. They are voices, family history, and words meant for particular people. Storywell keeps recordings on your iPhone by default, with Face ID available for another layer of protection.

  • No account required for the first release
  • Face ID with device-passcode fallback
  • Export a copy whenever you choose
  • Recently Deleted recovery for 30 days

Have one conversation

Bring someone you love. Leave with their voice in your hands.

The early beta is for iPhone owners willing to sit down with someone they love, try one guided conversation, and tell us what would make the experience feel even more natural.

  1. 1Install Apple’s free TestFlight app on your iPhone.
  2. 2Open the Storywell invitation link when beta seats are released.
  3. 3Try a real conversation and tell us where the experience can feel gentler or clearer.
Install Apple TestFlight

Opens Apple’s TestFlight app. The Storywell invitation link will appear here when beta seats open.

Early and honest: the screens on this page come from the working Storywell beta. Family feedback will appear only with permission.

A few good questions

Before you begin.

What is TestFlight?

TestFlight is Apple’s free, official way to install and test an iPhone app before its public App Store release.

Is Storywell an AI biographer or memoir service?

No. Storywell does not rewrite a person’s memories or tell you what their life means. It helps two people have a natural conversation and preserves the original recording in the storyteller’s own voice.

Does Storywell upload my recordings?

Not in the current beta. Storywell is local-first, so recordings stay on the iPhone unless you intentionally export and share them.

Do conversations need to be about serious illness?

No. Storywell is for everyday memories, family traditions, wisdom, and messages you want to preserve. Limited time can make those conversations feel urgent, but it does not define them.

What do beta testers need?

An iPhone running iOS 26, Apple’s TestFlight app, and a willingness to try one real guided conversation and share honest feedback.
